#2023travelwish #mytripvlog #tripblazers #wintergetaway Hotel tower were built in 1970 by Stanley Ho, Teddy Yip, Yip Hon and Henry Fok. A 270-room extension was added in 1991 for a total of 927 rooms. This expansion was partly done in competition with the newly opened Wynn Macau, located right next to the original Casino Lisboa. It’s has been awarded three stars by the Michelin Guide in 2008
#bucketlistreboot Relax and unwind in the luxurious Deluxe Room with a Turkish steam bath, 60-centimetre diameter Rain Shower, Jacuzzi, 40-inch television with 5.1 surround sound and a built-in mirror TV in the bathroom. The plush interior will offer you an unforgettable experience of luxury, comfort and style. Nice clean tidy maintained hotel off Avenida de Liberdade - a 10 minute walk to Restauadores and Rossio Squares. The room was a good size. Bathroom also a good size. Good force of water in shower. Towels replaced frequently. I thought we should’ve stayed closer to the action in Rossio maybe but it was quite hectic around there and actually the Avenida was quieter so the extra 10 minutes walk was a small price to pay. Quiet and safe neighbourhood with supermarket across street. Some nice little bars down Liberdade and back streets and pastry/coffee shops for breakfast.

Leave No Regrets: Recommended One-Day Tour Route for the Macau Peninsula
For a 3-day tour in Macau, spend the first day on Taipa Island, the second on the Peninsula, and the third on Coloane Island. For the other two days' routes, please refer to my other notes.
Taipa Island is mainly known for its hotels, while the Peninsula is where the old streets are, brimming with Macanese culture.
🔹 Macau Peninsula Route:
Fisherman's Wharf--Guia Lighthouse--Calçada do Amparo--Ruins of St. Paul's (Macau Museum, Monte Fort, Na Tcha Temple)--Love Lane--St. Dominic's Church--Senado Square (Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau Building)--Rua da Felicidade--Grand Lisboa Macau--Guia Hill Viewing Platform--Escada do Coxo--A-Ma Temple
🔹 Complete the route with 25,000 steps. Search for the place names and follow the navigation. The various alleys of the old streets have a strong local flavor, and there are all kinds of delicacies along the way, no need to search deliberately.
🔹 Detailed Introduction:
1. Fisherman's Wharf: Ancient Roman architecture, by the sea, suitable for photography
2. Guia Lighthouse: Overlooking the Grand Lisboa Hotel
3. Calçada do Amparo: Dopamine Portuguese architecture, with stairs, good for photography
4. Ruins of St. Paul's: You can go up from the museum sign, take the elevator all the way, and come down the other side without backtracking, and you can see the surrounding old houses
5. Love Lane: Dopamine Portuguese architecture, right next to the Ruins of St. Paul's, quick to visit
6. St. Dominic's Church: You can go in for photography
7. Senado Square: Just take photos
8. Rua da Felicidade: The same angle as in 'National Geographic'
9. Grand Lisboa Macau: The same angle as the Casino King
10. Guia Hill Viewing Platform: You can see the Macau Tower, and the nearby villas are the residential area for the wealthy in Macau
11. Escada do Coxo: A photogenic spot, pink buildings, all the way to the sea, with the Macau Tower in the background
12. A-Ma Temple: World cultural heritage, very popular, open from 8:00-18:00
🔹 Other Tips:
1. You can also do this route in reverse; if it gets too late, A-Ma Temple will be closed
2. You can take the same photo at Rua da Felicidade, then take a bus to A-Ma Temple, Escada do Coxo, and in the evening you can take pictures of the Macau Tower and the bridge at night from Guia Hill, and then go to Grand Lisboa for night views
3. The old town area of the Peninsula has sloped roads, so comfortable shoes are needed
4. If you are in Macau for 3 days, you can split this day's itinerary into two days for more comfort
5. I spent the first day on Taipa, the second day on the Peninsula to Grand Lisboa and then returned to the hotel, the third day on Coloane Island with plenty of time, so I could go to A-Ma Temple and Escada do Coxo in the morning
For the other two days' routes, please refer to my other detailed notes.

🚶Details: Walk from the hotel to Guanye Street for food - Coloane Island (Hac Sa Beach) - Return to The Venetian at night for photos and shopping
After eating on Guanye Street, take a bus for about half an hour to Coloane Island for photos. There's an Andrew's Egg Tart where you get off, and a little further ahead is Andrew's Coffee Shop and the beginning of October Road. Coloane Island has fewer people than Guanye Street, suitable for leisurely play. Note ⚠️ most shops close around seven o'clock. If you have time, you can also visit Hac Sa Beach.
🍲Food: (listed at the end)
After visiting Coloane, return to Guanye Street in the evening for Portuguese cuisine, then head to The Venetian for photos and shopping; the entrance of The Londoner is perfect for a set of dazzling photos at night.
🛍️: Bought the long-coveted Aesop at The Venetian, got an extra sunscreen for the canvas bag, pretty good; a friend bought 2 pairs of pink Adidas training shoes.
DAY-2 Macau Peninsula
Wander and eat near Ruins of St. Paul's - Love Lane - Check-in at the old and new Lisboa Hotels - Return trip
The next day we first stored our luggage (some hotels offer free storage) then went to MGM for 🆓 milk tea. Personally, I think the Peninsula side is more fun, with landmarks like the new and old Lisboa, Ruins of St. Paul's, Love Lane, etc.; this area also has a concentration of food spots, with cafes, milk tea shops, and bakeries all within walking distance.
Unfortunately, the coffee shop we wanted to try (Ma Qingkang Coffee Shop) was closed, so we randomly chose a noodle shop, then walked to buy coffee. The chestnut coffee from Single Origin was delicious, the shop has 2 floors, and the owner is a very gentle sister. Besides tourists, foreigners also like to come to this shop. There are many small shops nearby, I really like the streets here, just walking around is photogenic! Also, the coffee from Pace is very good! Macau milk tea is also delicious!
🛍️: The pork chop bun near the Ruins of St. Paul's is very tasty, and there's a shop selling egg tart scented products next to it, bought a candle and a keychain; on the way back, stumbled upon a coffee shop named 3.1415926... felt interesting, couldn't resist taking a 'surprise around the corner' photo.
tips:
1.💰: If you haven't had time to exchange foreign currency, it's very convenient to do so at the port, and you can also exchange back to RMB if you have any left;
2. Besides taking the bus, you can use Alipay for dining or shopping, which is very convenient;
3. For taxis, you can ask the hotel for help to call one, or use an app;
4. If you're only staying for one night, it's recommended to stay in Cotai, where there are many hotels and it's suitable for shopping at night;
📷Photo spots: Equipment: Fujifilm X-E4
1. Guanye Street p2-4
2. The entrance of The Londoner p6 (great lighting at night, very photogenic)
3. Coloane Island (colorful houses, mentioned in a previous note)
4. The old and new Lisboa
5. Peninsula streets p9-10

After visiting Hong Kong, you must go to Macau!
Macau trip is really great! First of all, I must recommend the Macau Tower, standing on it and overlooking the whole Macau, the feeling is really shocking! I hope this guide can help those who want to go to Macau and those who are going for the first time! Preparation before departure: Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau, Macau data package, power bank.
'Entry and Exit Health Declaration Card' QR code, cash in Macanese pataca
1. You can purchase the Macau data package in Alipay: upon arrival in Macau, turn on data roaming and select the CTM operator, then you can use data in Macau.
2. Be sure to bring a power bank, as there are no shared power banks in Macau.
3. After arriving in Macau, there are counters where you can directly exchange RMB for Macanese pataca. Cash is generally used for buses and light rail: 100 should be enough.
Accommodation in Macau Peninsula: Grand Lisboa, Lisboa, Grand Emperor, Grand Emperor Hotel, Vienna, Golden Dragon, Wynn, etc.

Macau Travel | Two-Day Tour Babysitter-Level Guide
Macau is a place you can visit many, many times, but the most common way to play is two days and one night.
So, for the first time going to Macau, how should you spend these two days and one night~
D1: Cross the border at Gongbei Port, take the free 'fortune bus' to Grand Lisboa Hotel, then walk to Senado Square, Ruins of St. Paul's, and along the way visit Rua da Felicidade, Rose Church, Monte Forte Park, Love Lane, etc.; in the afternoon, visit Fisherman's Wharf, Wynn Macau, and see the Fortune Tree🌳
D2: On Taipa Island--visit the Taipa Houses-Museum, Venetian Macao, Parisian Macao, etc., and experience the glitz and glamour of Macau.
🔸Buy a Macau mobile data package in advance, or purchase a Macau data card after arriving at the Macau border.
🔸Exchange Macau currency in advance, Hong Kong dollars can also be used directly, but the value is a bit more expensive than Macau currency, not very cost-effective, but the difference is not much so don't worry too much, WeChat and Alipay can also be used, but not everywhere
🔸Make sure to make good use of the free 'fortune buses', if you have to take the bus it's 6 Macau patacas, so always have change ready.
🍽Macau Cuisine:
With only two days and one night in Macau, time is tight and the mission is heavy, so pick the important ones to taste~
🔸Tai Lei Loi Kei Pork Chop Bun
It has a bit of a Chinese hamburger feel, with a pork chop sandwiched between two slices of bread, remember to order a drink separately, otherwise, it might be a bit choking.
🔸Margaret's Cafe e Nata
The tart crust is thin and flaky, with a rich buttery aroma and silky milk flavor, overall a slightly sweet taste, smooth and delicate.
🔸Lai Kei Ice Cream
A homemade ice cream brand with over 80 years of history in Macau, really brings out a nostalgic feeling.
The Foodie Voyager
A place that makes you linger and forget to return
1. Take a high-speed train 🚄 from Guangzhou to Zhuhai Station, and then directly walk to Gongbei Port from Zhuhai Station. (There will be signposts 🪧 after getting off, just follow the signs and you won't go wrong)
2. After we came out of Zhuhai Station to Gongbei Port customs, we exchanged for Macau Patacas and Hong Kong dollars right outside the customs. (Here you must pay attention ⚠️, you must exchange Macau Patacas or Hong Kong dollars at the rate shops outside, because the amount of Macau Patacas you get inside the port will be one or two less than outside) For example, 100 RMB can be exchanged for 111 Macau Patacas outside; if you exchange inside, you only get 108 Macau Patacas, and by that time you are already inside the port and can't come out, so you have to exchange!
3. It took nearly half an hour to smoothly pass through the port and reach the location of the 'fortune buses' to choose one according to the location of our hotel.
4. We arrived in Macau at night, so when we got to the Ruins of St. Paul's, there weren't many tourists.
5. The next day we directly followed the navigation to eat curry beef offal, the shop is called 'Niu Ji Curry Beef Offal'! It was really delicious! Wandering through the streets, we stumbled upon a pork chop bun shop, and the purchase we made on a whim turned out to be so tasty too!

In Macau (36) | Walking | Feel the character of the city through a stroll
✅Every city has its own character, the indelible yet constantly renewing marks etched by nature, people, and time. Perhaps it's a clarity that's crystal clear at first glance? Or a profoundness that requires meticulous analysis to appreciate? However, each passing of people, the city images they carry in their hearts, perhaps, have their own unique interpretations, just like everyone has their own 'Rome' in their heart.
✅Macau is certainly a city with a rich character. Not to mention the nearly 500 years of integration of Eastern and Western cultures, just the present-day weathered, simple, and even somewhat decadent daily life of the streets and alleys, contrasted with the meticulously crafted, glittering, and world-trend-leading casinos and resorts, is like water and fire, half cool, half passionate.
✅Only by walking through it can one deeply feel it. The recommended City Walking route on the Macau Peninsula takes into account World Heritage sites, modern landmarks, old city streets, and luxury resorts, starting from A-Ma Temple and ending at Largo do Senado, with footsteps measuring the echoes of sound, color, and history.
➡️A-Ma Temple: The oldest temple in Macau, the first stop for the Portuguese, and the origin of the name Macau;
➡️Marine and Water Bureau Building: A European barracks with Islamic decorative style;
➡️Zheng Family Mansion: The former residence of the Zheng family, author of 'Words of Warning in Times of Prosperity', the largest traditional Chinese architectural complex in Macau;
➡️Lilau Square: A quiet corner where ancient springs flow with stories of nostalgia that have been passed down to this day;
➡️Penha Hill: The best viewing platform in front of the small chapel, where even tiny Macau has a vast sea and sky, with the tourist tower reaching into the clouds, the elegant West Bay, the modern South Bay, the green hills of Cotai, and the buildings of Hengqin, all picturesque;
➡️St. Lawrence's Church: St. Lawrence's Church, where countless women and children once watched for returning sails from the high platform in front of the door;
➡️St. Joseph's Seminary and Church: The most beautiful Baroque-style church in Macau, a training base for the spread of Catholicism in East Asia;
➡️Company of Jesus Square: The Company of Jesus Theatre, Sir Robert Ho Tung Library, St. Augustine's Church, a dazzling array of World Heritage sites;
➡️Rua da Felicidade: The former red light district, now with a new look;
➡️San Ma Lo: The 'new' of the 1930s, one of the symbols of Macau's entry into modern society;
➡️Senado Square: The most characteristic memory point of Macau, with the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Santa Casa da Misericórdia, Church of St. Dominic, Cathedral, and the three-street guild halls, a collection of World Heritage sites with Chinese and Western features, not to be missed.
➡️Grand Lisboa➡️Hotel Lisboa: Unique architecture, bustling landmarks.
✅Dual-faced Macau, walk a thousand times, never tire.

I went to Macau for the Spring Festival
I stayed on the Peninsula, right next to the Grand Lisboa which was quite convenient. To get around, I could take the Grand Lisboa's shuttle bus. I walked to the Ruins of St. Paul's and passed by the Maxim's shop where I bought a freshly baked pineapple bun for 6.5 in the morning, which was really delicious. During the Spring Festival, Macau was still quite crowded. It was so packed at the Ruins of St. Paul's that it was impossible to take photos. I also enjoyed the local pork bun on the street and bought some to take home, which tasted great!
I went to the Venetian to take photos and check in. I bought Lord Stow's egg tarts for 13 each, and a box of 6 cost 78 yuan. My child said they were delicious, and it was worth waiting in line for over half an hour.🙂
I went to the Eiffel Tower to take photos but didn't find a good spot, so I just snapped a few shots casually. The milk tea at MGM was really good, I recommend everyone to try it, and they also offer small pastries. I watched the diamond show at Galaxy and saw the Wynn's Tree of Prosperity. All of these are inside the lobbies, and you have to walk a bit to get there, so it's a good idea to plan ahead for these must-visit spots!

Walking in Macau for 9 hours, I'll tell you all the pitfalls and thunder points
【First Chatter】
I went to Macau for a day, and many friends asked me about my feelings: The most impressive feeling that day was the crowding and loneliness.
The crowding is a description of the city, feeling that there are 10 people standing in one square meter; loneliness is because there are multiple languages being spoken around you, but none of them you understand, in Macau I felt like I was alone.
【On the Road: Customs Return】
🛻 Customs & Return
Enter from Zhuhai Gongbei Port (6 am-1 am), follow the instructions all the way, now you don't need to declare your health status, report separately if there are exceptions. The whole process is to swipe the pass, fingerprint, exit the customs and get the voucher, fingerprint, fast customs clearance.
❗️Lesson from the past: If you have Hong Kong and Macau endorsement information, you can handle the new endorsement by yourself at the endorsement machine, it takes 1 minute. If you have never had any Hong Kong and Macau endorsements (a white card), you must follow the time for handling a new card.
❗️Return: Gongbei Port is called Guanzha in Macau, don't search for the wrong destination when you search.
❗️Shopping, generally you will not be stopped when you return unless you have a lot of things.
【On the Road-Macau Crazy Walk for 9 Hours】
Gongbei Exit-(Take the New Lisboa Fortune Car)-New Lisboa-(Walk)-Legislative Council-(Walk)-Ruins of St. Paul-(Walk)-Fort/Macau Museum-(Walk)-Crazy Church Slope-(Walk)-Dongwangyang New Street-(Walk)-Old Lisboa-(Bus 6 Yuan)-Londoner-(Walk)-Venetian-(Bus/Taxi/Fortune Car)-Old Lisboa-(Bus/Taxi/Fortune Car)-Guanzha
10:00-19:00, 9 hours, the output limit
If it weren't for the Venetian who kept walking and felt there was no end, I should be able to visit more places
【Food & Souvenirs】
Macau is expensive, so I didn't eat anything particularly good, but there are some small shops I recommend to everyone (I've eaten)
1⃣️ Jinmei Food
2⃣️ Jinli Food Shop
3⃣️ Paramount
4⃣️ Xingxiangyuan
Souvenirs, the most common and most chosen is "Juji Souvenir", and I chose to buy "Andrew Egg Tart" for egg tarts.
【Extra Attention】
1, Expenses: Most shops can Alipay & WeChat, real-time exchange rate, cash can be exchanged for 1000 Macau dollars, Hong Kong dollars can also be, but the exchange rate is different.
2, SIM card: You can buy it at customs or in advance, turn on the phone after customs, and you can receive the Macau signal.
3, Macau taxi: Taxi stand queue or hail (but I didn't see anyone hailing, almost all were queuing) or Macau call app, taxi is a bit expensive, traffic is not easy to move, often over a hundred, and only cash is accepted.
4, Bus: All 6 yuan, prepare the money in advance, no change

Macau MO | City walk never looks back
| City walk never looks back. Macau might be known as a Casino center in most people's impression. On this tiny land, every day is a story of glitz and glamour. When you really come to this place, everything here will amaze you. 🌆Whether it's the newly erected magnificent buildings or the old residential buildings that have been running through the streets for many years, the new and old scenery constantly fills your eyes, all marveling at the unique charm of this city, which is also why I strongly recommend everyone to visit Macau once in their lifetime!
The travel guide of Macau is divided into two parts, the Peninsula and Taipa. Of course, there is also the Coloane Peninsula that everyone talks about, but unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to go there this time, we will prioritize it next time~ The hotel we booked for this trip is on the Peninsula, very close to the surrounding attractions, it's convenient to go anywhere. Also, I would like to mention the hotel I stayed in (Emperor Hotel), although it's on the hillside, the hotel service is very good, the environment is also good, the room area is really large compared to Hong Kong, we stayed on the 9th floor at that time, the view outside the window is great, the hotel's off-season price is also very affordable. Then below are some of the places we visited, there is no place that is not worth playing, the more famous attractions are indeed crowded, but acceptable, under the blessing of good weather, slowly walk in the city, any place to take a photo is very out of the picture.
🚏Peninsula: Guia Park — Grand Lisboa — Old Lisboa — Mercy Hall— Ruins of St. Paul's — Monte Fort— Fong Tong Lane — Guia Lighthouse — Fisherman's Wharf
These places are not far apart, there is no order, you can go wherever you want, the Macau Peninsula is very suitable for a relaxed tour, there will be various Portuguese-style buildings along the way, the colors are bright and bright, really good looking! There will be some shops along the way, selling local specialty snacks. No need to specifically go to check in some internet celebrity shops, just walk and play freely 👋
Also, you can bring a small notebook to the corresponding attractions to stamp: Here is my stamp route:
🔖Fountain opposite the Town Hall — Nezha Temple — Ruins of St. Paul's — Macau Museum — Church of Our Lady of the Rosary — Macau Post
🚏Taipa: Wynn Palace — MGM Cotai — The Londoner Macao — The Parisian Macao — The Venetian Macao — Guanye Street
The whole feeling of Taipa is magnificent, all the buildings are very high-end. If you can't go to London and Paris for the time being, why not come to Macau to see the Big Ben and the Eiffel Tower first. Also, be sure to take the free cable car at Wynn Palace, don't queue up on the first floor outside, there are a lot of people, just go directly into the mall, there are cable car guides or ask the staff, go directly to the second floor to queue. Also, the luxury goods here are quite complete🛍️, you can compare the prices yourself. In addition, Guanye Street has many authentic snacks, you can eat while shopping, in short, you will also have a new travel experience in Taipa.
Then talk about the transportation in Macau, we only took the bus twice in Macau, the bus only accepts cash, 6MOP/person. It is recommended to prepare a small amount of cash. You can exchange money directly at the customs. When you get to the customs, if you go to the Peninsula, you can take the fortune car of Grand Lisboa, if you go to Taipa, you can take the fortune car of Wynn/Parisian/Londoner, there are also free shuttle buses from the hotel, these alone have saved us a huge amount of transportation costs.

You should always visit Macau at least once
You should always visit Macau at least once
When traveling in Macau, you don't need to take a bus/taxi, the best way is to walk! Walk and watch, feel the classic history and romantic feelings there!
Macau reveals European shadows everywhere, but it also has a unique Chinese style. Just looking at the style of Macau, it's worth flying over to feel it.

🔋Prepare the conversion plug🔌 power bank in advance
🚌Use 'Bus Reporting' for bus travel in Macau, you can check the route and time, 6mop/person
🚗Use 'Macau Call' for taxi, the starting price is 19mop
🗺️Use Google Maps for navigation
🏃Prepare the visa in advance, if you want to go to Hong Kong, you can directly exchange Hong Kong dollars (many old-fashioned snacks only accept cash)
Shops in Macau accept Hong Kong dollars, but Hong Kong does not accept MOP💰
